Muhammad Abdullah Al Yasin

I started FactsLedger as an independent project after checking the data of schools like Golden Peak High School and finding much of it wrong or stale online. I felt it was my responsibility to give people correct information.

Research and source-checking is something I do on my own, alongside my regular job — not a profession. I completed an LLM (Master of Laws), which included a Research Methodology subject, so I have a grounding in how research is done. I don't claim to be a journalist. What I can show is the method: every profile lists its sources, flags what could not be verified, and invites corrections. See the methodology and corrections policy.

Profiles are researched with AI assistance. Every profile is checked against its cited sources before publication. I don't publish private contact details, home addresses, family information about non-public individuals, health information, or allegations not documented in a tier-1 source.

Work covers institutions and individuals whose public record is scattered across government documents, awarding-body publications and local press archives — schools and colleges, universities, people, organizations, places, historical events, creative works and, most recently, biological species. As of 5 November 2026, that work spans 1373 published profiles across 8 categories: Schools , Universities & Colleges , People , Organizations , Places , Events & Documents , Creative Works and Species .

Approach

Every profile on this site starts from the question of what can actually be confirmed, not what would be convenient to publish. That means fetching and reading a source in full before relying on it — never citing a search snippet or a summary written elsewhere — and checking that the source genuinely supports the specific sentence attributed to it, rather than being merely adjacent to the topic. Where two independent sources disagree on a detail, such as an exact date or a numbered ranking, the disagreement is stated in the profile rather than resolved by guesswork.

  • Primary documents before secondary summaries.
  • Every cited source opened and read against the claim it supports.
  • First-party statements labelled, never presented as independent confirmation.
  • Unverified claims published as open items rather than dropped or hedged.
  • Cross-source disagreements stated openly, never silently resolved by guesswork.

A profile is not published just because a subject is popular or trending. Many researched candidates are held back — as too thinly sourced, already extensively covered elsewhere, or not a good fit for any of this site's categories — and that screening is treated as part of the job, not a shortfall of it.
